Delmon Holdings entered the aviation sector in 1993 through South Asia (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary appointed as the exclusive agent for Kazan Helicopter Company of Russia.

Through strategic partnerships with Kazan Helicopter Company and V/O Avia Export—Russia’s aviation export agency—South Asia (Pvt) Ltd secured a landmark contract to supply MI-17 IV transport helicopters to the Sri Lanka Air Force. This marked the first-ever procurement of Russian-made transport helicopters by the Ministry of Defence in Sri Lanka.

Since then, we’ve expanded our aviation services to include the supply of MI-17 helicopters, spare parts, and comprehensive after-sales support such as maintenance, overhauls, and simulator training. In 1995, we partnered with Avia Baltika Aviation Company of Lithuania, a recognized expert in helicopter repairs and overhauls, further strengthening our global reach and technical capabilities.

Avia Baltika’s acquisition of SPARC (St. Petersburg Aviation and Repair Company), Russia’s largest helicopter overhaul facility, enabled us to offer capital overhaul services, reinforcing our position as a trusted provider in the rotorcraft sector.

In addition, Avia Baltika operates AST Europe, a modern training center in Lithuania equipped with EASA-certified flight simulators for MI-17 helicopters. The facility offers specialized training programs for flight crews and engineers, including night vision and advanced operational modules.
